Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? (2010) is a 2010 Bollywood comedy film directed by Ashwni Dhir. It stars Ajay Devgan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. It is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures & Wide Frame Films . The film was released on 5 March 2010. The film was distributed by the B4U Productions. The production for the film was the shortest on record from pre-production to post-production lasting only four months.

Plot

Puneet Bajpal(Ajay Devgan) is a screenwriter in Mumbai who is currently working on the latest film from Indian Director Taneja(Satish Kaushik) at Bollywood Studios.He has one son named Ayush Bajpal.Puneet and his family live a happy life until Puneet’s uncle Lambodhar Bajpal(Paresh Rawal) turns up at their door from Gorakhpur,([Uttar Pradesh]. Puneet has not seen his uncle in 20 years and neither Munmun or Ayush have ever met him. Ayush finds him funny due to his uncle’s problem with farting, but Munmun believes Uncle to be an annoying relative who knows nothing of city life having come from a small Uttar Pradesh town. Still Puneet welcomes Uncle into the house.

As time goes on, Puneet tries to show Uncle what city life is like by taking him out into Mumbai. Yet still Uncle fails to understand anything of what Mumbai is like. Puneet decides to take his uncle to his work at the film set for Taneja’s new film at Bollywood Studios thinking that Uncle is a huge fan of Bollywood films. The problem is that his uncle knows nothing about Bollywood when he doesn’t know who Indian directing legend is.Uncle meets a character called Kaalia Viju Khote.He often irritates him by making him repeat a dialogue from Sholay.The director orders a staff man that to blast the dynamite as soon as he says 2.Unfortunately,Kaalia sees Lambodhar and he mumbles 2.The staff man hears it and blasts the dynamite and the set gets ruined.At that moment, director Taneja orders security to throw Uncle out in an act of disrespect to an elder. Puneet defends his Uncle from security and is sacked from his job as screenwriter. Without a job, Puneet finally comes to the conclusion that Uncle is taking up too much of his and his family’s life and with Uncle refusing to leave and return Gorakhpur, Puneet and Munmun come up with a plan to force Uncle to leave the house for good. They trick him into booking himself on a train to Gorakhpur pretending to be sad at his departure from Mumbai.

Uncle leaves Mumbai on the Gorakhpur Express.The family then celebrate his departure. However they are soon stopped in their celebrations when they here a fart. Uncle then appears announcing that he has decided to stay for another 2 months to their despair. Despite this, Uncle soon discovers that his nephew is actually trying to get rid of him.During Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai,a stampede breaks out at [Juhu Chowpatty].Puneet’s uncle goes missing.The whole night Puneet wanders to hospitals nearby to the spot.The next day,Puneet sees his uncle is alive and fighting with a rickshawman.Puneet goes angry on Uncle.But to Puneet’s fortune,Puneet gets his job back.Director Taneja signs for his next film.
